About:
El Guapo is a four man team composed of veteran Chicago improvisers Adal Rifai, Scott Elam, Mike Johnson, and Joey Romaine. These real life friends believe in grounded scene work, unconditional support, and high energy fun.

Scott Elam
Scott Elam is a proud Nashville native and Chicago resident. He has studied improv and sketch comedy at iO and the Second City. He performs regularly at iO with Sears Tower and also works for Second City aboard Norwegian Cruise Line ships. He is thrilled to be a guest of the Nashville Improv Company.

Joey Romaine
Joey Romaine plays a mixture of real and fictional characters, all connected in some way to the extended family of Victor "Pug" Henry, a middle-aged Naval Officer and confidant of President Franklin Delano Roosevelt. He would like to thank the Nashville Improv Company for letting him come play!

Michael Johnson
Mike Johnson was born and raised in Chicago. He currently is a member of Chicago's ComedySportz Theater and perfoms regularly at iO Theater with Sears Tower, Dinner Bell and Felt.

Adal Rifai
Adal Rifai has been improvising in Chicago since 2006. While having done many shows at both Second City and The Annoyance you can see Adal weekly at iO with the house team Revolver and with Whirled News Tonight. He has performed, taught and coached teams all over the U.S. and currently is coaching Sears Tower and teaching at iO. He also heads up the coaching and incubator programs at the Playground Theater in Chicago and performs and tours with the independent team Pudding-Thank-You. Adal is delighted to play in Nashville.

We strongly suggest pre-ordering your tickets early as our shows tend to sell out very early.

Special Workshop!
Learn an improv format that uses the pinnacle of group mind: Dragon's Breath!
During a Dragon's Breath show, no player leaves the stage at any point. Each performer stays engaged and connected at all times -- there are no sidelines to escape to. Each performer is continuously a part of the piece, becoming an architect from within.
This format will help you use organic transitions and find non-verbal ways to support a scene, while rocking a form that flexes your improv muscles like never before.
