It's the 1st weekend of February and that equates to 2 things: football and Improv!
This Saturday February 4th at 8pm we're bringing you the fastest, the biggest, the brightest and the MVP's of The Nashville Comedy Theater to compete for your applause and laughter.
Also that night we'll be celebrating along with you the news we can now accept credit cards at the door!
Bring your friends, family, out of town guests who came in to watch the big game on your 78 inch plasma flat screen and start your pre-gaming 21.5 hours before kickoff with us!
This show will be full of Giants and Patriots. (We are very serious about this.)
Once upon a time there was an improv troupe. They enjoyed making up things on the fly and were all friends in the kingdom of Nashville.
In 2012 they all got together and made two solemn vows. First they vowed to make 2012 the best year for improv comedy ere' seen. Ah but what makes the best they wondered? So they asked the people of the kingdon (and are still asking by the way)
Secondly they vowed to make things even better for their kind patrons who would offer the time and laughter as gifts to the troupe, because that is a rare and special thing.
The gifts offered by the troupe to the patrons? Bigger shows, new directors, more classes, brand new games, shows every 1st & 3rd weekend of the month, a sign leading the way to where the performances were. (Sir Dan Johnson stepped in and filled the role of sign & now stands daily marking the entrance to the theater)
And most recently, credit cards can now be used instead of bags of gold and silver for admission at the door. No longer will anyone be turned away due to a lack of paper.
Because they take their vows seriously they have and will be spending their days and nights living up to their vows.
This story isn't over yet.
And all in the kingdom of Nashville smiled.

We love the internet & pop culture. Our free time is spend playing Settlers of Catan, checking Reddit, updating our blogs, Googling Wikipedia articles and watching everything on Netflix. And our shows this weekend will showcase these 'skills'.

Our Iron Songwriter in residence Boo Detch will be performing at this Friday's 8pm show & we never want to make things easy for her so we have challenged her to write in 45 minutes a song based on your favorite celebrity's twitter account & their crazy tweets.
And The Pop Culture Show! Featuring games inspired by art in the world as we know it. Movies, music, TV, authors and more. We're nerds. We admit it. And it will be entertaining.
p.s. If you want to learn how to do these games, sign up for our classes, starting this Saturday!

Were they the best improv shows of the year? Yes. Seriously. Yes. We had face kicks, running tackles, marriage proposals, Spiderman, Shakespearean wooing "You are like fondue..." A Pan Am flight gone horribly wrong, Smurf The Bounty Hunter, 5 Things finished in record time of 4 minutes 44 seconds, Buckethead & so much more. It was the most physically epic shows we've ever done. Our sides still hurt.
And now we're gearing up for our 3rd weekend shows!
