We’ve dedicated our lives to living & performing on the edge and we’ve often been asked, can you improvise the entire show? So on the March 1st show we’re leaving EVERYTHING to chance. No rules, no setlists, no plans, the show is entirely in your hands. The audience will select all the games, create the show, and we’ll perform it right then.

We love to show that everything we do is totally spontaneous, because Improv is our middle name.

One night only Chicago Improvisers Tara Defrancisco & Michael Tatar perform with Nashville Improv 2/20/14

What happens when the NIC joins forces with veterans of Second City, iO, Annoyence & ComedySportz? A once in a lifetime evening in Nashville. The first 60 minutes will be a crazy run of games featuring NIC, Tara, Michael Tatar & you. Then Tara, will pull one lucky audience member out of the audience to become her COstar in this production. The person must be a student who was enrolled in improv classes or someone completely unfamiliar with performing an improvisational show, who willingly threw an ID into the lottery pre-show that evening. Tara & CO will then premiere their one-time-only 2 person feat, a 25 minute improv show. Hailed as “absolutely amazing”, “groundbreaking”, “improv as outreach”, and “some of the most patient, playful work” seen at iO Chicago.

Tickets are available by clicking here and we HIGHLY suggest ordering them early to not miss this fantastic 1 night only performance.

Michael Tatar is a native of Chicago and trained at The Annoyance and SITI Group of NY. A graduate of The Second City Conservatory and iO Chicago he performed with the groups Trying Too Hard, Buck Range and toured with The Second City BizCo and Disney's The Lion King. Michael is proud to be an instructor at The Improv Retreat, the Midwest’s only outdoor improv immersion workshop. Like every actor he has a second job, as a firefighter. Ask him about it.

Tara DeFrancisco is a decorated performer (and teacher) for the iO, Second City, and ComedySportz theatres in Chicago, Illinois. Hailed as the “Funniest Person in Chicago“ by the Free Press, she was even more recently awarded the prestigious "Players" Top 50 Performers in Chicago by New City - one of only three improvisers to receive the nod. She travels the world to teach improvisers all over the globe. You can see Tara in the Las Vegas tv commercial campaign, the ABC Family/Blip tv show Delusions of Grandeur, in the new live lit pilot SPILL, and read her stuff at her website (taradefrancisco.com). Around town, catch her often at CSz mainstage and iO on The DelTones, Chaos Theory, Armando, and defrancisCo - where she performs with one random audience member in a long set - and just won top nod from the Chicago Tribune. She is proud to run The Improv Retreat (http://theimprovretreat.com/) - the first improvisational arts conference & sleepaway camp in the woods for adults. YES!

Come see why the NIC has consistently been performing to sold out crowds in Music City, as Nashville’s professional improv company.
